This month’s GFantasy magazine came with an alternate cover for Vol. 12, out last month:

The back cover has fake ISBN numbers, bar codes, and the back cover blurb to make it look like a regular tankobon cover.
The blurb says:
Even so, I am still a butler for death.
The beautiful “grim reaper”, Grelle Sutcliff.
On the luxurious passenger liner she headed on a mission, she manages to make a fated reunion with a man who makes his living as a butler.
To kill each other…to love each other…her white porcelain body melts, melts in the sea called war.
She offers the reddest butler manga in the world to Sebastian darling…

Last evening I was at the h.NAOTO+ store for the GRAMM fashion show. This was the first GRAMM show this year.
Here’s the invitation:

The fourth catalog came out yesterday as well. This time the story involves the first “M” key, and ties together the previous three stories in a surprising way.

Because the latest chapter is a lot bloodier than the previous chapters, there was a red bustier/skirt coordinate. The last black coordinate was the witch that also appears in the story.
Designer Z8 mentioned that the fifth catalog (the last one) should be out by the end of year.

The other day I was at Animate Yokohama for the Jun Mochizuki manuscripts exhibit. The majority of the displayed works were from Pandora Hearts, and the rest were color illustrations for the Boukyaku no Haoh Roland manga and novel.
The exhibited works were all color illustrations (no manga manuscripts). Most of the illustrations were from recent chapter covers. Cover illustrations for volumes 14 and 15, and the novel was on display, as well as calendar illustrations.
I bought volume 15 at the venue, and received this postcard:

The text says “Thanks for coming.” and “It’s a secret that I wanted to have him wear a lab coat instead.”

I will be teaching a one-time course on manga translation at Fellow Academy (a translation school)’s Open Sesame, their fall open campus event.
Students will get a few pages of manga (plus a simplified style guide) to translate beforehand, and I will be explaining how I translated them after a presentation on what the US manga market is like, the basics of manga translation, and how I do my work.
