Gothic & Lolita Ensemble

The publisher of Alice Deco just came out with a new magazine on the 24th called “Gothic & Lolita Ensemble”. It is a lot like the G&L Bible in that the main feature is the brand catalog, features by Takemoto Novala and Mana-sama, and patterns for making clothing items.

There is also a “what happened in the goth-loli world this past ten years” timeline, as well as interviews with various designers.

Credits list model Aoki Misako as “kawaii producer” for the magazine. In June, a “Goth-loli Certification Test”, supervised by her, will be held. (The location is still unspecified.)

On April 10th, a “Gothic & Lolita Ensemble Store” will opening up inside the INDIVIDUAL site. You’ll be able to buy items listed in the magazine, and they’ll ship overseas as well.

The next issue is scheduled to come out May 24.

Kaki no tane

Here’s a packet of regular-flavored Kaki-P:

There’re Kaki-P where the crackers are coated in various flavors of chocolate (milk, strawberry, cafe-au-lait, etc.), which helps offset the spiciness. There’s a wasabi-flavored Kaki-P which is pretty hot (but good with beer). There’re also the occasional sold-for-a-limited-time-only flavors. Last year there was a black-pepper-flavored one.

Harisen

The big fan Shukotan whacks Taikobo is is harisen, a prop used in comedy skits and in manzai (two-person standup comedy).

The fan makes a loud noise when you whack someone with it, but supposedly it doesn’t hurt as much as it looks.

Pandora Hearts Chapter Titles

flat 3 came out last Saturday. To commemorate this, a bunch of Yurindo bookstore branches are exhibiting her manuscripts. So I went over to the Kawasaki branch, because I’d be able to a calendar card if I bought the tankobon there.

6 pages of actual b&w manuscripts were displayed, 3 double-spread pages. I was impressed that her manuscripts were so clean. I’d seen manuscripts with correction fluid all over, but her manuscripts didn’t have a drop of correction fluid on them.

flat is by Aogiri Natsu, and the series is running in monthly Comic Blade Avarus.
