I went to two h.NAOTO events last month. You got tickets for the events if you bought a certain amount of merchandise during a set time period. (Some events are by invitation only. With the GRAMM fashion show in January, I got an email from the hEAVEN store asking whether I was interested in attending.)
The 14th was a Valentine’s event at the hEAVEN store. Designer Hirooka Naoto, IBI and MINT (of Sixh.) were there, so you could just chat with them or ask for fashion advice (and give them chocolates). A number of clothes and accessories that were created for the 09 S/S Tokyo Collection went on sale that day, so you could take a close look at each item. Each designer had also coordinated two one-of coordinates for sale at the event. Priority went to people who wanted to buy the coordinated set. If no one wanted the set, the items were sold off separately. Half of the cash register counter had turned into a bar counter, and light snacks and desserts (lots of chocolates and heart-shaped cakes) were served. At the end was a bingo game, with each designer providing a prize.
The 21stth was a honey event at the MelT store. This event was billed as “MelT Beauty Night”, and was held in collaboration with girlactic. The event started out with makeup demonstrations by a girlactic makeup artist, showing how to do different makeup for purple and pink clothes (the two main honey colors). After that was tea time, with warm tea, various finger foods, and lots of bite-size sweets served. Then came the mini-fashion show, with designer Takeuchi-san explaining the new spring items that she and the staff were wearing. You could then go take a close look at the clothes and accessories everyone was wearing, ask questions about the details, and put in pre-orders for them. The omiyage was either a purple or pink pouch with a full-size eye girlactic makeup kit. This was the first time I’d attended a honey event, and I was kinda overwhelmed by how sparkly everyone looked (a lot different from the predominantly goth atmosphere of hEAVEN events).
